I, Matter! Coaching & Consulting is a high-touch Executive Coaching practice activating transformation in Women who want to get out of their way, reconnect to self, and live as empowered badasses.
In 2022, I had an idea for a giveaway to run all of 2023, exclusively focused on Black and Brown Women, primarily because we are not always on the receiving end or have access to Executive Coaching.
Each quarter is an opportunity for one Woman to win pro bono Coaching to activate transformation within her life.
She walks away from the program with a clearer picture of her wants, needs, and desires and a determination to make it happen!Â

Yes! It cost $0!Â
As long as you meet all qualifying (eligibility and commitment) criteria outlined above, you are eligible for a chance to win.
When determining whether you should apply, consider whether you are willing to invest time in attending the weekly sessions and putting in hours to complete between-session action items (a/k/a homework).
Absolutely not! This is not a bait-and-switch meant to trick you into purchasing anything. Offering this program aligns with my values and provides a way to give back.
Feel free to search LinkedIn for “alexis mobley, m.sc. and giveaways” or check out my profile (the documents tab) for information on 2023 giveaways.
Or, read this 2022 LinkedIn post on the origins of this post announcing the first giveaway.
Precisely what is outlined above.
I live at the intersection of ‘acts of service’ and intentionality, and this program does both. Â

It depends. On how much you are willing to invest in transformation. Typical program participants indicate they spend anywhere from 2 – 4 hours per week on ‘homework.’
Please note each person’s commitment is different, and how much you are willing to honestly self-reflection will determine how much time is required.
Yes. Please, please, please, review this LinkedIn post where I outlined tips observed from reviewing submitted 2023 applications.
Also, please double-check the spelling of your email and LinkedIn addresses.
Hard work, if you choose to uncover, unlearn and potentially, throw away what you know about yourself and those around you. Likewise, “What you think you know” implies one might be operating using outdated beliefs or those not of your choosing.
It is work. It is participatory. It is illuminating.
It is neither passive nor easy. And it’s also not the coach telling you what to do or how to be.
Within the application is a question that asks, “If not selected as a winner, would you like your application included in future 2024 submissions?”
If you respond ‘Yes,’ your application is automatically rolled into consideration for the next quarter. There is no need for you to apply again.
A straight-no-chaser approach, lots of laughter, thought-provoking questions, engaging dialogue, a genuine desire to see you win (at whatever you choose), plus a sprinkle of anger (yours, not mine).
If you aren’t annoyed at me a few times throughout the process, I’ve not helped you dig deep enough. 🤷🏾‍♀️ 🤣
I do not provide direct email access as a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality. However, you can search LinkedIn for “alexis mobley, m.sc. and giveaways” to view previous winner announcements if you wish to contact them with specific questions.
I do not use my clients’ names or likenesses beyond the quarterly announcement to ensure confidentiality.
I’m so glad you asked! Let’s begin with grounding definitions. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) “defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.“
While the American Psychiatric Association says therapy “is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing.“
Coaching, like psychotherapy, is an umbrella term housing many modalities. For example, there are life, spiritual, business, and executive coaches and cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, supportive, and play therapists, to name just a few examples.
Coaches partner to co-create spaciousness for future-forward goals, while, typically, therapists work to navigate blockages surrounding past, sometimes traumatic, experiences or events.
Note: Coaching can be therapeutic. However, it is vital to understand that coaching is not therapy, nor is it meant to substitute mental health services.
